Our modern, cozy, and luxurious holiday apartments at the foot of Mauterndorf Castle immediately give you the feeling of being truly welcome. The unique landscape of the Lungau holiday region, with numerous excursion and hiking destinations, is waiting to be explored by you. Visit the historic market town of Mauterndorf, Mauterndorf Castle, or the ski areas of Obertauern, Katschberg, Grosseck - Speiereck, and Fanningberg.
Our establishment offers you the best starting point to explore all the slopes, mountains, lakes, and bike tours of the Lungau holiday region, both summer and winter. The free winter ski bus to the Mauterndorf ski center and all other ski resorts can be reached in two minutes on foot (the stop for the ski bus is 100 meters from where you are staying). Right next to the Hackenschmiede, you'll also find a floodlit winter toboggan run, approximately 500 meters long – sleds and toboggans are, of course, provided by us free of charge.
