Nestled amid striking mountaintops and gentle alpine pastures, you are also greeted by over 60 magnificent tarns, as well as countless streams and waterfalls. The Lungau mountain lifts also operate in summer, carrying you hassle-free to the most beautiful trailheads imaginable for your hikes.
Golf
At Lungau Golf Club in St. Michael, surrounded by absolutely magical countryside, you can play golf at the very highest level. Aside from the 18-hole course, you will also be drawn by the spacious practice facility and a 9-hole par-3 course. Gliding
The Mauterndorf Airfield is the highest alpine airfield in Austria, a gathering spot for glider pilots from around the world. Due to its unique location in the Lungau basin, the airfield benefits from extended periods of exceptional thermals. Gliding is possible, in so far as the airfield is free of snow, from April until late into October. A special experience: guests can book glider flights and tours (on motorized planes) of the Tauern mountains.
Riding/Carriage Rides
The Lungau is an ideal starting point for extended horseback rides. Whether up in the saddle or enjoying the countryside in the back of a horse-drawn carriage, exploring our many side valleys or even some of our mountaintops - for equestrian fans, this is the most marvelous nature experience imaginable.
Paragliding

Taurachbahn Railway
Austria's highest narrow-gauge railway offers a "steamy" experience. The trainstation Mauterndorf is a fifteen minutes walk away from our apartmentresort. If you make arrangements in advance, they also run special trains from June until September. These nostalgic steam and diesel trains can be rented out for company or club trips, as well as for wedding celebrations.
Mauterndorf Castle
Right beside our Apartmentresort you will find the castle of Mauterndorf, a unique art-historical treasure in the midst of a fascinating mountain world. Awaiting you here is an exciting journey back to the Middle Ages. It is also the site of the Lungau Folk-History Museum and a 44 meters-high fortified tower with fascinating views of Mauterndorf and the surrounding alpine world.

Right beside our apartmentresort you will find an archery range. Try the oldest precision sport of the world - it will become an unforgettable experience for kids and adults.
Swimming Pool Mauterndorf
If you want to have some change from our private swimming pond, you would have the opportunity to visit the Mauterndorf Adventure Pool. Theres you can look forward to fun in and around the water for the whole family: outdoor pool, fun area for kids, giant slide and much more.

Cycling Mountain Biking
Stimulating cycle paths and challenging mountain bike tours offer everyone, casual cyclists and ambitious mountain bikers alike, the recreation and adventure they seek amid the healthy mountain air of the Lungau Region.
An extensive, well-maintained and clearly marked network of bike paths leads out alongside streams and forests, and through the beautiful Lungau countryside. A unique El Dorado of mountain biking, which includes 15 magical tours totaling 560 km in length, is sure to set bikers' pulses racing in anticipation.
One special tip for families and casual bikers is the Mitterberg Tour: ca. 200 vertical meters, max. 12% gradient, ca. 30 km, beginning wherever you are staying.
In cooperation with sport rest we provide our guests mountainbikes and electric bikes. Sport Rest brings the desired bikes directly to the apartmentresort.
